Today, Racked.com reviled photos of the pieces that Lanvin will sell in collaboration with H&M. The photos are super detailed! I thought the video which was just released today was going to be a great preview until I discovered this! Eat your heart out! But watch out, the prices are a little steeper than I expected them to be, guess shopping will have to wait until the middle of this month. Accessories rage from $19.95 for sunnies to $99 for shoes. Necklaces and bracelets are moderately priced around $39. For the apparel, expect to spent a bit more - dresses will run you anywhere from $200 to $250. Lanvin for H&M

Hands down one of the most exciting collaboration that H&M has ever done will hit stores November 23rd. Alber Elbaz, Lanvin's artistic director confirmed the exciting news and has said in the past that he "would never do a mass market collection but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public....where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world." I have to say that is a philosophy that I am very grateful for! The images from the campaign reveal floral frocks, one shoulder hammered silk dresses, blazers, leopard shoes and of course, the shopping bag :) The collection also includes jewelry, hats and the signature Lanvin sunnies. If you look closely though, you will notice that the H&M looks are very similar to Lanvin's runway looks from the 2009 pre-fall and spring 2009 collection. What do you think? Rarely do I report on beauty but I came across this demonstration on T-Magazine.com and was blown away by the way makeup transforms a face. I have always been a girl who layers up on the clothing – not on the makeup, hair or nail polish – aue natural. My perception of makeup is that you have to be really good at it to wear it and that, I am not. I'm begining to see it as a form of art and in I would assume that being a makeup artist for big name designers is a special treat. After all, you are contributing to the overall aesthetic of the designers vision. I don’t think I have given makeup artists the credit they deserve- especially ones that can transform a face the way that they do on these catwalks.

One trend that appears to have some serious staying power this spring is the playful look of mixing bold, colorful and graphic patterns. Spring 2011 has presented us with some stand out patterns and the best way to wear them is together. The mixed media trend has been making its way onto the fashion radar for a few seasons now but Spring 2011 will be its moment to shine. Known for her range of patterns, Diane Von Furstenberg showed nearly every look with a pattern mix. Other designers that featured this trend were Rachel Coney, Peter Som, Karen Walker and Chris Benz. The key to make this trend work to your advantage is to layer a patterns by keeping similar complementary color stories in mind. Make sure you aren't head to toe in patterns, add a belt or roll a sleeve to break it up.

How Anna Wintour Dose Fashion Shows

Undeniably, one of the most major moments in fashion happened last Thursday night with Vogue's Fashion's Night Out Fashion show. The concept of the show was created by Anna Wintour and her Vogue Magazine staff to develop and style a runway show of 171 different looks from a slew of different designers fall 2010 collections - most runways include about 40 looks. Designers like Louis Vuitton, Marcesca, Prada, Dreis Von Noten, Paul Smith, Alexander Wang, and Jason Wu, to House of LaVande, Miriam Haskell, Alexis Bittar, Manolo Blahnik, Sophie Theallet, Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin all contributed their strongest pieces to create this masterpiece. The fall looks were divided into eight different categories and ten looks from each category were reviled to an audience of designers and fashion enthusiasts alike. The first grouping to show was Fifties Flair which was styled with Mad Men in mind. The models were adorned with full a-line skirts, red lips and kitten heals. Second came Tartan Twist. This grouping showed one of falls strongest styles, plaids and tweeds in different silhouettes but always paired with a straight leg pant and a strong black boot. The Pure At Heart collection came off to me as more of modern simplicity with clean lines a neutral color pallet. Weekend wrap up tells the story about embracing the fall season with layers to boot. It's something that I long for here in Southern California but look forward to traveling to come the winter season. My favorite thing about this grouping is how every model is topped of with an Alexander Wang side braid. My least favorite collection was Rock Chic. A collection that was dominated by overdone makeup and over styled hair heavy. It's the emo-chic collection in my opinion but the looks were a magnificent blend of animal prints, leather, and sequins of all sorts. Gone Global was hands down a wonderful tribute to costume. Not likely that you would see anyone wearing these looks in the states but if your headed to Russia, you might take a few pieces from this collection. Jazz Age-Cool calls our attention to this season's velvets and furs of every color. The sleek and refined look reminds us that when you play it up with the fabrics, to play down other aspects of your garb. CBS cameras followed Anna Wintour and her staff around for three months prior to the show to capture the efforts that went into producing this ground breaking fashion show. It’s that time again! One of the biggest nights for award shows, it’s a time for the most recognizable stars in show biz to look perfectly glamorous for us to ohhhh and ahhhhh over what they are wearing. It is my prediction that blue will be the new black on the red carpet of the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. This dramatic color is smoothing and mesmerizing. Hues of blue can lift and lighten ones appearance and I have a good feeling that it will be worn in navy, midnight blue, azure and aquamarine. Blue is a universally flattering color and is very versatile color for all skin tones and all ages. Blue looks fresh in flowing fabrics and on structured dresses as seen in the pictures above. Blue was a very prominent on the fall 2010 and resort 2011 runways for designers like Ellie Saab, Jenny Packham, Reem Acra, Marchesa and Carolina Herrera. Because of their red carpet presence and I have a good feeling we might be seeing a lot of blue this year…be sure to tune in for the red carpet pre shows to see if I’m on to something.

I recently gave into watching an episode of The City - which quickly turned into watching the marathon of The City. I have to admit I formed a penchant for Ms. Palermo. There is no denying the Elle accessories editor is the most fashionable villain on the show but now I somehow find myself channeling her when getting ready for work in the morning! What’s that about? Olivia is best known for having a trained eye when it comes to jewelry designers. Recently, she has teamed up with designer Roberta Freymann to create a capsule collection of gorgeous bejeweled statement bib necklaces. The pieces are strikingly beautiful - glass beads, semi-precious stones and sequins are sewn onto grosgrain fabric. Each so carefully detailed, it deserves closer inspection. Bib necklaces are great because they make the most simple outfits extraordinary. I have been infatuated with this season’s most undoubtedly funky trend and I just can’t get enough! Don’t get me wrong, denim has always been my go to but I can’t help but get excited when I see someone sporting printed pantaloons. Not a far cry from the harem pant, I’m obsessed because they almost cross the border into loungewear but are a fun way to jazz up any look! Be sure to wear a slim fitting shirt and maybe add a cropped jacket or blazer for contrast. When shopping for the perfect pair, you want a light weight fabric that is relaxed at the hips and tapered down to the ankle. Don’t be shy when choosing a pattern either, the bolder the better – stripes, graphic, floral and abstract prints are my personal favorites!
